Printing labels in the browser

Turns out, if you can distract yourself from cleaning your room, you can build some pretty cool tech demos!

In this case, I was able to put together a simple web page that used the WebUSB browser APIs to directly communicate with a Brother QL label printer, no drivers needed!

The Magic 8-Badge is an Open Source CircuitPython-compatible electronic badge initially built for the PhreakNIC 2023 conference in Murfreesboro, TN.

Designed in KiCad, and powered by the Raspberry Pi RP2040 microcontroller, with a beautiful round full-color LCD screen, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and a handful of sensors!
